The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia from the year 1991, promotes the equality of the citizens in the Republic of Macedonia with no differences on the gender. Apart from the constitutional and normative solutions, the practice indicates that the participation of the woman in the economical and political life is limited. The factors that restrict the participation of the woman in the economical and social life are: poverty, unemployment, low level of education, tradition and similar.

Economical recession, as well as the current restricting of the Republic, has disproportional negative influence on the employment of the woman. The woman very often accepts employment, which is in lack of long-term work security or hazardous working conditions, or works in unprotected manufacture or she’s being unemployed.
