Women's Gender studies
The women's gender studies started as an experimental program in 1998. In that context, it were held certain open public debates for sensibilization of the publicity about the women and gender issues in Macedonia, which debates were held by the visiting professors from Zagreb and Belgrade. It was held many lectures on the following areas:
- What is feminism? By Ph. D. Biljana Kashik- Zagreb;
- The woman in the conflicts' solving by Ph.D. Olga Murgeva Shkarik;
- The woman and politics by Ph. Mirjana Maleska;
- The woman and economics by Ph. D. Natalija Nikolovska;
- The historical challenges for the woman in her fight for emancipation by Ph. D. Vera Veskovik Vangeli.
These lectures are the real indicator for the increase of the interest for coming on the educations that summarize the women's issues. In the year 2000, this resulted with the starting of more intensive and strengthened summary that was the base for building of the structural and organizational capacity of the women's gender studies.
These studies are functioning as alternative studies and are an addition to the scientific gaps that exist in the present educational system. These studies have the goal to upgrade the gender awareness in the publicity offering another approach in the studying and analyzing of the women's and gender' issues, and to discover in the publicity new women's views and experiences, to initiate self confidence and self change among the students and to make an impact on the social reality.
Target group: women and men who are interested about the women's gender issues regardless of their social, national, cultural, religious, ethnical and gender direction.
The duration period 1999/ 2004
Number of people encompassed with the education in the preparatory phase of the women's gender studies is 200 students;
Total number of students who have gotten with the certificates from the women's gender studies is 250 students;
694 held lectures;
160 seminars' texts;
154 practical exercises in the oral workshops;
50 debate clubs;
18 tribunes.

Program of the Women's gender studies
Two semesters' program is accomplished in the autumn and spring semester with 10 scientific areas and 5 university professors from the state university “St. Cyril and Methodiuos”.

Mobile education
The mobile education includes lectures in 10 towns around Macedonia and training workshops on different topics, which summaries will come from the needs of the target groups. In the frames of the mobile education are encompassed 300 women.
The program for mobile education is conducted in the following towns: Shtip, Kumanovo, Bitola, Radovish, Struga, Ohrid, Veles, Gostivar, Prilep, Tetovo.
Library “Gender equality”
Library “Gender equality” has the library fond of nearly 1350 books from the following scientific areas:
law;
literature;
Contributions from the program:
Creation of image for alternative approach in the studying and analyzing of the women's gender studies in Macedonia;
Discovering of new women's views and experiences/ there are opened new possibilities for surveying;
Initiation of self confidence and self change among the women and impact on the social reality;
Established permanent women's gender studies and developed publishing from the area of the women's movement in Macedonia;
Partly satisfied the women's need for education of this kind.
