The work ‘The status and rights of the employed woman’ is a result of a long- term work and research of this issue, precisely the women’s rights in the context of the human rights, which were primarily initiatied by the needs to represent this material not only by the aspect of the determination of the status and rights, but also to be considered the process of thier obtaining and realisation. The reasons for this work have also come from the need for one deeper comprehension of the issue for the status and rights of the employed woman, on national and international plan, through the presentation of a proper legislative regulation whit which this issue is regulated. The status and rights of the employed woman is in the group of those issues that are overcoming the interests of individuals- experts, proffesionals, scientists from certain areas and separate countries that in its legislative regulation dedicates special interest about the regulation of this status and rights. This is a issue that is a challange for the entire international community and especially for those international organizations that the regulation of the status and rights of the employed woman have as a imperative in thier overall activity. Firstly, I have to mention the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations (UN). The need for consideration of the status and rights of the employed woman define in the domestic legislation, and firstly we have the Republic of Macedonia in the focus of our interest, has enforced as a necessity by the fact that the Republic of Macedonia also on the international scene, with its independence in the ninties, has become the egalitarian member of those organizations that this status and rights regulate on the international level, as well as in the Council of Europe, which activites in this area are one of its important permanent dealings.
On one site, the active involvement of the Republic of Macedonia in the world wide and european organiztions and in the integrational processes, for us who deal with the status and rights of the employed woman is overcoming not only the interest for introduction of its certain aspects and is also special proffesional engagement as a University professor. The preparation of this work is a challenge with which we hope that it will be given an opportunity for diper presentation of the issue for the status and rights of the employed woman on national and international plan. On the other site, the publishing of this work, we felt as one kind of obligation in front of the wider population in the Republic of Macedonia, which is ensueing from near by the international and european trends on the area of the human rights in general, and in this context the status and rgihts of the woman. Special obligation for announcement of this work, we feel and in front of the students of the Women’s Studies, which have been successfully organized for a several years within the Union of the Women’s Organizations of the Republic of Macedonia. We hope and we know that the author of this work as a professor of these studies has given her modest contribution especially on the issue of the status and rights of the employed woman.
